Article about Entertaiment:
The act of entertaining, or an agreeable occupation for the mind, or a diversion or amusement: the daily crossword puzzle is an entertainment for many. Also a performance of some kind, or a show or display: a play; a musical; the circus. Entertainment evolves in a wide range of media and can be adapted for any size audience, from an individual who chooses a private amusement from an ever-increasing array of pre-recorded products, to a banquet designed for two; or performances intended for thousands.
Entertaiment often hits on points that the human brain was evolved to react deeply to, such as social backstabbing and murders; this is one reason why it is so powerful. The word derives from the Latin intertenere, or “to hold inside,” and its Indo-European root ten, meaning “stretch.” See also amuse.
