It also caused harm to the environment by polluting the air with exhaust from gas-powered vehicles and by consuming land that would be better used for agricultural purposes.
Modern cars have a lot of safety features in place such as seatbelts, airbags and air conditioning. Some even have cruise control and lane keeping assistance. While these systems don’t come cheap, they can help save lives and reduce injuries and deaths on the road. In addition, having a car provides a level of security that may not be available with public transportation, especially at night when the majority of buses and trains aren’t running.
