What Are Automobiles?


Automobiles are wheeled vehicles that carry people for transportation. They are primarily designed to run on roads, to have four wheels and to be built mainly for the transport of passengers rather than cargo. As the automobile became more widely available, it transformed society. It enabled people to travel longer distances and live in places other than their homes. This helped people find work and leisure activities. It also created new businesses, such as hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues. The automobile also led to increased pollution and the destruction of natural resources.
